ASEAN Finance & Central Bank Deputies Meeting

The ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting – Working Group (AFCDM-WG) convened, concluding a week of discussions among various Working Committees (WCs) namely Capital Market Development (CMD), Financial Services Liberalisation (FSL), ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF), ASEAN Banking Integration Framework (ABIF), Capital Account Liberalisation (CAL), Payment and Settlement System (PSS) and Financial Inclusion (FINC).

AFCDM-WG also covered a range of topics under ASEAN Finance Cooperation such as Infrastructure Finance, Cooperation in Insurance Matters, Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (DRFI), Cooperation in Customs, ASEAN Single Window developments, ASEAN Forum on Taxation (AFT) and ASEAN Treasury Forum (ATF).

The proposal on ASEAN Power Grid Financing Facility (APGFF) were introduced, deliberately discuss and viewed upon the strategic implications and potential benefits of the facility, highlighting the importance of fostering sustainable energy solutions and regional integration.

The meeting later was briefed by ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) on the recent developments of the ToR of ASEAN Cross – Sectoral Working Committee, the ToR of Working Group on Food Security and the establishment of Working Group on Finance-Health Collaboration including the next step and proposed workplan.
