Bilateral Meetings in Penang

During a series of three bilateral meetings in Penang, Malaysia's Ministry of Finance (MMOF), led by Dato’ Zamzuri Abdul Aziz, Deputy Secretary General (Policy) engaged in discussion with counterparts from The Philippines Ministry of Finance (PMOF), Singapore Ministry of Finance (SMOF), and Thailand Ministry of Finance (TMOF).
The primary objective of these meetings was to garner support for the ASEAN-Malaysia Chairmanship 2025 Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) under the Finance Track. Key topics covered included preparations for the upcoming 2nd ASEAN Treasury Forum (ATF) Meeting, invitations for ministers to participate in a Side Event at the ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting (AFMGM) in Kuala Lumpur in April 2025, and a proposal for a Ministerial Interface Meeting centred around Financial Mechanisms for Carbon Neutrality, Energy Security, and promoting deeper regional economic integration. PMOF, SMOF, and TMOF expressed their support for Malaysia’s PEDs and the implementation of the 2nd ASEAN Treasury Forum (ATF) Meeting, which will be tentatively held in August 2025.
