Working Visit Of His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister And Minister For Finance Of The Republic Of Singapore To Malaysia 4 – 7 September 2022

The Minister of Finance, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz welcomes Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, His Excellency Lawrence Wong, in conjunction with his working visit to Malaysia from 4 to 7 September 2022.

His Excellency is scheduled to have an audience with the HM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, and call on YAB Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. He is also scheduled to meet with Senior Minister of Defence, YB Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Hussein; the Bank Negara Governor, Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus; as well as engage in a closed-door dialogue with Kuala Lumpur Business Club.

The visit by His Excellency Lawrence Wong will provide an excellent opportunity for Malaysia and Singapore to exchange views on a broad range of bilateral, regional and international issues, as well as further strengthen the longstanding relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Besides being our closest neighbour, Singapore was also Malaysia's second largest trading partner and the largest within ASEAN with total trade amounting to RM267.11 billion (USD64.43 billion) in 2021, an increase of 25.2 percent, compared to the recorded value in 2020.
