Vision

To be an excellent Government strategic investment manager in creating sustainable value to support national economy growth beyond the year 2020.

Mission

Maximising the impact of Government investment in Government-owned companies in terms of economic development and improving the quality of life of the rakyat.

Objective

Ensuring that Minister of Finance (Incorporated) [MOF Inc.] companies carry out activities in line with the objectives of their incorporation.

Function

  1. Formulating domestic and international policies related to Government-owned companies.
  2. Implementing and coordinating corporate matters pertaining to MOF Inc.’s interests as a shareholder in companies.
  3. Conducting analysis and monitoring of the financial performance, Key Performance Indicators and investment portfolio of MOF Inc.
  4. Managing MOF Inc.’s investment activities.
  5. Reviewing, formulating and implementing corporate restructuring of MOF Inc. companies, including financial restructuring, divestments, mergers, acquisitions and rationalisation.
  6. Monitoring and ensuring proper corporate governance practices in MOF Inc. companies.

Establishment Act

Minister of Finance (Incorporated) Act [MOF (Inc.)] 1957 (Revised 1989) [Act 375] empowers MOF (Inc.) to enter into contracts and may acquire, purchase, take, hold and enjoy movable and immovable property of every description, and may convey, assign, surrender and yield up, charge, mortgage, demise, reassign, transfer or otherwise dispose of, or deal with, any movable or immovable property vested in the MOF (Inc.) upon such terms as to the MOF (Inc.) seems fit.
